Job Title: Engineer (Biotechnology Industry)

Location: East Region, Puerto Rico (Open to Puerto Rico Residents)

Duration: Approximately 11 Months

Summary

We are seeking an Engineer to support operations within the biotechnology industry. Under general supervision, the selected candidate will contribute to process optimization, troubleshoot operational issues, and support capital projects. The role involves applying standard engineering principles in the design and implementation of system modifications, experiments, or technical solutions. The engineer will organize, analyze, and present results related to minor-scope operational or engineering projects.


Key Responsibilities


Operations Engineering

  • Provide technical solutions to moderate-scope engineering problems.
  • Troubleshoot and support operations by acting as a subject matter expert on equipment or systems.
  • Participate in daily operations as needed to meet production schedules or resolve issues.
  • Audit operational performance and regulatory compliance for moderately complex systems.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, validation, facilities, and R&D departments to develop system requirements and improvement recommendations.


Design Engineering

  • Support project managers in executing design, engineering, and construction projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with consultants, architects, and external engineering firms to develop standard design documentation.
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes for equipment modifications or installations.
  • Prepare preliminary cost estimates and project timelines.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of engineering experience, or
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with GMPs, GLPs, and validation protocols.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine technical issues.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, technical report writing, and validation protocol execution.
  • Experience with specialized laboratory or manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency in documentation practices within highly regulated environments.
